There is something terribly wrong with a country where a civil graduate has to celebrate getting a job in a software company.

Are you sure he 'had' to celebrate?

Really, i cant imagine anyone not from software actually wanting a sofware job. And most people say they dont. But when it comes to that or nothing, there's no choice left.

Ultimately the bottomline for every person arnd is to earn money to be able to atleast satisfy the basic needs + hv some luxuries arnd. And perhaps deep within the civil graduate is not satified but he is happy to hv got a job which satisfies this purpose and so he/she is celebrating. Perhaps thats the only reason why i respect indian s/w MNC's..they have atleast generated enough employment opportunities for indian ppl! The work there does not give satisfaction but still it is helping the basic purpose. :)

Very true about MNCs. I cant imagine what we would have done were it not for software "boom".
But is this situation not a massive waste of time, effort, money and intelligence?

considering a civil grad who takes up a job in his own feild will mostly have his first paycheq non-taxable at best and not worth mentioning at all... u shuld know...ur brother worked on the same scales!
